Welcome back for WEEK 4!
This week’s focus is on recognizing the feelings and perspectives of others. How can we help our students become more socially aware of those people around them? What better way to do this than to use the book The Day the Crayons Quit. I felt like this was the perfect book choice for this week because you can guide your students in a conversation about each crayon. Ask them what they notice for each. Ask them WHY the crayon feels this way. Ask them if they can relate to that feeling. There are so many opportunities here to recognize the thoughts and feelings of others. Hopefully, the more they practice this, the better they will get. Make sure you grab the freebie and the book! (links below)
Want to take this unit a little further? I have an opinion writing unit that also goes with this book! (click on the image)
