Hey, all! I’m so excited to join in for this link up!
Thank you so much to Angie and Ashley for yet another great idea for #2getherwearebetter!
Raise your hand if you hate changing bulletin boards? Raise your hand if you have a hard time coming up with ideas? People – you are NOT alone. When I started teaching 10 years ago, I knew then that this was going to be an area that I needed to make simplistic for me. So with that being said, I have done a couple things…
First of all, this was back in the day: I had a square for every student and we would change them every 2 weeks with some sort of work to showcase each child…
Now, let’s fast forward to 2015… haha
I knew that this last year, I wanted to have a focus board. However, after talking to someone who spends a lot of time in my classroom (Missy, if you’re reading this, HEY!) we talked about how sometimes focus boards mean nothing to the students. So, we talked about getting the kiddos involved in the boards.
I have each subject divided into sections with the objective listed. Then, each time the objective changes, I come up with a way for the students to come to the board and practice what they are learning. They. Love. It.
These are some other bulletin boards that I have in my room. I keep them simplistic and use clothes pins to quickly change things!
